Trochlear. We're 7 guns down n a man behind. Not just any man, but the father of Trochlear. This marks the 2nd great blow to strike Trochlear... and just as we were recovering from the 1st. The first blow was the loss of Karma Download--our supplier and channel for promotions. Without the actions taken by Supa n I, it's certain there would b no future for Trochlear.

My thanks to Supa for the time she put in while sick n working 2 other jobs!

For an update of what's going on in the background as I write this...

Trochlear Recordings Limited is being divided into these 3 branches:

Trochlear Rex: The music label for Mushuto's works, as well as Supa's and my own, to be produced and sold under. Rights and trademarks for our works fall under this, as do legal contracts such as extended rights and cooberations.

Trochlear Medz: Trochlear Media is the outlet for our visual works, both music-related and beyond. All 3 Trochlear artists extend their creative capacities well beyond the audio elements.

Trochlear Pro: Trochlear gets fuzzy here, as it extends its scope to include other talented artists who share in a love of music. Trochlear Promotions isn't limited to electronica, and is founded on the idea that more high quality artists gathered in the same space can only improve the quality of that space, and draw others with even greater gravity.

Beyond these 3, Maya Ava of Dharma Mixing will be using much Trochlear material as the consciousness thru music company goes live in a month.

As the last Trochlear website is lost, a new one is being designed. All 3 branches of Trochlear will be represented.

Final tweaks to the new promotional and distribution schema are scheduled to go live this October. Supa n I have a lot to cover around that time. A lot is going on that simply isn't seen.

For now, 2008 must be spent in preparation so that this seed that is Trochear may bear fruit. Down... but never out.

This is the message that I received back when querying whether or not the messages I'd received about friend and co-owner Jared Newby were true. The lady on the phone at the Statesmen assured me that it had been filed by the morgue, and that it was indeed true. It has been over a month since I heard the news, which was, itself, almost a month late in reaching me. There has been a lot of work done in that time in order to gather the label back together and re-organize our efforts, as well as ensure that Jared's works live beyond him.

It has been good work... fulfilling work. Today... this blog will be re-born at least in image, in preparation for the future. Images, sounds and more from all over the Net have all been saved and archived for future use. Today is yesterday's end, and tomorrow soon sets on us all.

The Trochlear Video Agreement:

Trochlear Recordings Limited (hereafter referred to as "Trochlear"), alongside its artists, retains all rights to all published and unpublished material. Film makers who wish to use Trochlear material may do so, at absolutely no cost, in agreement with these guidelines:

01. Film makers using Trochlear material should inform Mushuto (Jared Newby) of what tracks, and by what artists, they will be using in their project, and inform him, at the same time, what the project will be titled and when it will be released.

02. Any production containing Trochlear material must accredit the artist and track title in the same section containing the majority of all other credits, whether that be a portion of the film or through another source of media (an official website, poster, etc...).

03. By using Trochlear material, the project's producer gives Trochlear the right to use any footage from said project for use in the creation of music videos to the tracks used in said project. These music videos will accredit the Trochlear artist and track title and, in the same credits, the title and producer of the video project they appear in.

Mushuto's body has been dealt with.

I'm just joking. I'm not even in Austin... but when I get there...

Hah, gotcha again. Y'all know I'd never do a thing like slicing up Mushuto all over a little web page, leaving him alive while I do my knifing until finally allowing him the sweet surrender of death before I use a porcelain bathtub and some materials from the local pool shop to completely consume the body and remove all evidence from ever being used in a case against me. I'd never do that...

...you know, what ever I gotta say to get Mushuto feeling nice and safe.

...heh... heh heh...

...yeah.

Well, I will slowly be working on this site today and prettying it up for its prom date. I'm hitchhiking my slow way back towards the ATX, and am currently eating up the two seasons that Santa Fe gets every single day. Much love, and stay tuned!

The Device and Stress Elevation....

The device has now returned to the homestead and all is well, for now. Going over the material on the hard drive, it looks as if there is enough material for a complete ECR release, yet untitled at this point. And thank god that the person that had the device didn't erase any of the content on there. There were some changes, but minimal.....

Also, there is enough material for another Mushuto release, also untitled at this point. Following this entry there will a list of titles that I have came up with so far.

There are some tracks completed for the next Schema E.P., which is also untitled at this point.

At this point the Mushuto release will more than likely be an E.P., and the tracks that are complete are as follows....
artificial flavouring, Keep Movin', The Concept, Filter The Break, Breakin' Cochlea (For The Bass Bleed), and some others that I can't remember.

Now for the ECR release, these tracks are more "break" driven and ambient, a complete departure from the "Morningside Bloodpattern" release. Although there is a track that will featured, titled "Biscuiteatter", a short ditty, but precise.
Here is what is competed so far....

The Refuge, And Time Will Tell, and at this point, I have drank to much beer, one in fact, a 211 Steel Reserve, which is measured out at 8.1% Alc./Vol.

I think the artwork for the releases are complete, but as I said prior, I am drunk at this time I can't remember, and to tell you the truth, it's all good.

Oh, and for the next Schema release, I am aiming for a more "electro/housey" sound, but still with the IDM aspect to it. What the finished product becomes, remains to be seen.

All is well in the ATX, but that can change in 5 minutes.

Various ideas have been running thru my head for the next ECR CD, and one that keeps poppin' up is a "free-form/ambient" release. But, like I said, just a thought. The next Mushuto release CD/EP will be more upbeat, jazzy, tech-rolla', if that makes any sense what so ever.

Raw 42 UK are sellin' out. They sucked anyway. (Raw 42 UK is Mushuto's licensing label.)

The Hidden Agenda

I havent posted in a long time due to situations, which have since been resolved, at least for the moment. I have pretty much left everything up to Prime, and must say I am very impressed. The Karma content is completed, the blog has beeen updated on a daily basis, and all by Prime. So I want to give some mad prop's to him for keepin' things on the move, without him, Trochlear Recordings Limited would be nothing. Also, I need to wish him well on his trip into the unknown til' April.

I want to thank my friend "Ms.33" for her continued support and love. She has seen me go thru it in the last month or so, and I thank her for being there for me. Big hugs and kisses.

The Progress:

The new Epileptik Cerebral Reaktor release is in pre-production. The concept, there isn't one. Just pure harsh experimental/industrial evil....
There is a possiblity that there will be a vocalist on this one, and I have one in mind, just waiting on word from him. Thats all I can report at this time, and there will be more to follow starting next month....

Near the finale, it is a war of beats as the full evolution comes 'round. "H-Automus" is short for Homo Automus--"the automated human."

The number of electrical sequences in this track is designed to provoke near seizures in technophobic listeners, who shouldn't be listening to electronica in the first place. By my conjecture, it is machine that is humanities rightful replacement in the measure of evolution, and its only threat is the fear of this. That is technophobia.

This track is my own experiment in simplicity, using a limited amount of samples, and only timing and layering as tools for variation. "La Manera del Dolor" means, loosely, "The Way of Pain." This, like the previous two tracks, is a philisophical dissertation in musical form. It can easily be separated into two parts, as it shifts halfway through the track and doesn't bring the whole of itself together until its peak near the end. On the CD, I am currently planning for it to precede "Sombranoche" in track order.

I began looping a single sample for this track, and adding in samples. I couldn't bring myself to stop looping it, so I just drew it out and started adding more and more elements as it played. I left it playing even when it came time to actually format the track. The outcome is "Liminal," a progressive breakbeat track with many different initial stages, a warped core, and a climatic finally that is actually built for looping... just in case any listeners are as obsessive as I can be.

I was wanting to put out a proper thanx to Peacelove Productions. The majority of my music (Mushuto/Schema) is produced with Peacelove samples and loops. Out of all the releases I have purchased, not once have been dissapointed with their material. I have spent hundreds of dollars on loops, and nothing compares to the sound quality you get from them.

I just bought EZ-Rollers Producer Pack from Zero-G for $110.00 (USD) and was extremely dissappointed. The sound quality of the majority on this release are fucked off in mono, mono, why? Isn't this shit for the dancefloor? Well evidently not from this release. (I had to get this out)

But if you want 100% quality at a fuckin' awesome price, and with a direct download option, check out www.peaceloveproductions.com , you won't be dissappointed.

Despite the minority for this genre, I had to make a glitch track for the collection. In the end, I'm going with Mushuto's word: "It makes the perfect 'in-between' track to bridge 'Sombranoche' with 'Depthcharm.'" The variance and haunting ambience each have their place in "Time Interrupt," a track inspired by an experience of my own outside of Ux-Mal and the track "Ten Blessings" from the ECR LP.

However, all because I had started working on this track, my body wouldn't rest until it was finished to my satisfaction. This is my first all-out drum & bass addition to the label, and easily my current personal favorite. The acid line has been stuck in my head all night.

(Surge Mix)--The surge increases the rate of variability in the beat, extends the ambient middle section and raises the acid line to a sonic peak before bringing back in the beat and beginning the slow desent towards closure. The Surge Mix is to portray alternative mixing methods with this track, as I enjoy the Original Mix more.

Now, the first "ECR" release....I have a ton of designs, it's just the task of sorting and destroying.
I have an idea of the tracks that I want to release, one track has been set in stone, "Lost/Liver".
Yeah, the track is 16 minutes or so, but I feel it would close the CD, sort of like completing the story....The story behind the track "Lost/Liver" started 2 weeks after 9/11. It's my take on what I felt the hours I spent in front of the television watching the events unfold. I had started watching the newscast just moments before the second plane was flown into the second tower. Utter disbelief. Shock. Anger. Sadness. Lost. This song is about the waiting, the searching, and the vulgarities of our species. Our total disregard for human life, no matter what our racial background is, we as human are to blame for all traumas that we may endure. Maybe if we were more prone to acceptance of one another, and cared about what the other persons beliefs were, and respect that, maybe, just maybe, we might be a world that could coexist with one another. But, until then, we will still die by the hand of our own.....\end

This track "Nightshade" is precise and smooth. The synth and pad transitions are like butta'.

What is "Qi Gong"?

Qi Gong (pronounced chee gung) is an ancient Taoist healing system that is similar to yoga in that it emphasizes proper breathing and specific body movements to stimulate and direct the flow of qi, or the life energy, throughout the body. The main objective of Qi Gong is to balance yin and yang energies. The discipline is practiced by the Chinese to develop specific powers and to maintain health by collecting vital energy in the solar plexus.

So, I awoke at 3:30 A.M. (CST), because my brain started playing "Kokamo" by none other than The Beach Boys, and of course it (my brain) could not seem to play the whole track, I guess the needle was stuck, or the record was damaged. But any case, I feel that most could sympathize with my agony. I should be thankful that "Copa Cabana" didn't play, huh. Now on to what this post is about.

Since 2001, I have produced some material under the name Epileptik Cerebral Reaktor, and as I had mentioned in a prior post, most had not been released on any format, or even previewed by anyone. And I started thinking, why not put the
material out there? So, if your musical taste span from IDM\Glitch\Industrial\Breaks\Tech-Step, then send a request to trochlearmedia@sbcglobal.net.

"Maltodextrin Overdose...."

First and foremost, let me introduce myself...My name is ***** aka Mushuto. I currently reside in Austin, Texas, and have done so for the past 8 years...I enjoy windy walks on Town Lake, watching APD chase "cluckers" through my backyard, producing electronic music, and watching Japanese splatter films without subtitles (due to the fact that most dialogue in such films is meaningless, kinda' like a Woody Allen film). All that aside, I am starting this "blog" to cure the boredom that plagues me day to day, and also to somewhat plug my production work and whatever else that might come about. As I said prior, I produce "electronic” music, spanning various genres, from drum and bass to trance, glitch/IDM, gabber, and trip-hop....I stated 8 years ago, mainly performing and producing "big-beat" tracks, which I had some success with two tracks that I released over in Germany, "With Regards, Leland", and "Freezerburn", both of which were picked up by Raw 42 Music UK for TV/Film licensing. From that point on I started producing under the name "Epileptik Cerebral Reaktor", concentrating on "industrial/ambient/gabber".... The majority of tracks that I produced under Epileptik Cerebral Reaktor were never released or even previewed by anyone for that matter, and not due to "embarrassment" but due to other situations that caused life to go into left-field.... While in left-field, production came to a halt, and had to mainly focus on real-life (career, health, relationships, criminal endeavors, drug experimentation, rehab, blah,blah,blah....) A 3 year hiatus ensued, not much memory of that time period, and then experienced what most near-death survivors would call a "moment of clarity".... Back to earth, somewhat..... 2004. I resumed producing tracks under Mushuto, and have since released 10 tracks through Karma Download, a digital music downloading service, based out of the UK.... July of 2004 I was nominated and won "Artist of the Month" and was described as "a D&B wiz from stateside" from the staff of Karma Download.... Future. I am in the process of completing my first release, and starting a label, based solely from Austin, Texas.... Only time will tell what will happen, but for the most part it's all about keepin' positive.... As I close, I would like to give proper respect to the following persons, in no particular order.... Gina Hernandez, for standing by me, caring for me and showing me that there is love, understanding and trust....Thank you. Kan & DC, for critiquing my work and promoting when possible, proper.... Lucien, my dog, for the ability of handling the loud music that she has to contend with on a daily basis....
